The Double Bass (Bass)

The Bass is the lowest and largest member of the string family and usually plays the fundamental or root tone of the chord. Basses are played while standing. Bass players are in demand and playing opportunities are numerous. Basses are sometimes used in Wind Ensembles and Concert Bands and are an integral member of the Jazz Ensemble. Acoustic or upright bass technique transfers directly to the modern electric bass.

Electric Bass (Jazz Band)

The Cello
