ATTIRE
All students will be required to wear appropriate clothing and athletic shoes (soft rubber soles, no black marking soles or tennis shoes with a heel taller than one inch). Dresses or skirts, sandals, Birkenstocks, Doc Martens, etc. are not appropriate for P.E. Students may choose to bring a pair of tennis shoes to school and leave them in their 6th grade core classroom.
All lost and found items will be kept in the P.E. offices; report all lost or stolen items IMMEDIATELY.
GRADING
Students are expected to show certain behaviors daily. Failure to do so will result in a lower unit grade. Expected behaviors include; participation, sportsmanship, attitude, effort, preparedness, cooperation, attentiveness, following rules, being on time, and improvement.
The grading scale will be based at approximately 20% for conditioning, 20% for fun Friday activities, and 60% for unit activities.
Units will include leisure activities, football, soccer, conditioning, fun Friday, wrestling (boys and girls separate), gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, track, softball, and physical fitness testing.
TARDIES
In order for students to participate fully in P.E., they need to be in their attendance lines ready for exercises on time. Each tardy will result in a lowering of grade points.
EXCUSES
