Alki Middle School

Greetings Alki families!
Congratulations on a great first day of school! I am sure there were glitches, I am sure there were nerves, and I am sure there was a great deal of uncertainty about how today would go. In the end, I hope you feel it went better than expected and relieved some of the nervousness of getting started. In my mind, it only gets better as the glitches of today get ironed out and everything runs more smoothly moving forward. Either way, I am proud of the staff, students and parents and the start we got off to today. GREAT JOB AMAZING FAMILIES!

A few reminders for Wednesday:

-Students will check in with all of their teachers tomorrow, periods 1-7. These are short meetings to focus on getting to know each other.
-Zoom links for each teacher are in Canvas.
-If you are having trouble getting into a Zoom meeting or finding the code, email your teacher.
-There was a mis-communication in the afternoon schedule for Wednesday. The afternoon classes are each a half hour earlier than what we originally advertised. An updated scheduled
is linked here.
-Please make sure to log in to Canvas DAILY to check each teacher's learning activities for that day.
-If you are having technical issues, contact Ali Iskenderian at 313-3235, or email at alison.iskenderian@vansd.org

Keep up the great work and keep asking questions as they come up. Working together we will get to a place where things are working smoothly. It only gets better from here!
Take care,
M
