Dear Parent/Guardians,

Based on current guidance from OSPI, Vancouver School District will be focusing on maintenance of IEP skills, through review and reinforcement of previously taught material, for your child.

We are excited to begin working with you around the maintenance of IEP skills and problem solving around what that will look like while adhering to social distancing protocols. Your child’s case manager and applicable related service providers will be reaching out between March 25th and March 27th to further communicate the process that is outlined below.

You can expect the following from your child’s case manager and applicable related service providers:

  1. Weekly materials that target IEP goal area maintenance sent via email or available to pick up by coordinating with your student’s case manager.
  2. Information of daily office hours for phone calls and Zoom meetings.
  3. Weekly contact to check-in and problem solve.

During the week of March 23rd, you will be receiving an online learning resource from the Special Services Department. Additionally, you will receive documents that will support your setup and use of Zoom. Lastly, you will be hearing from your child’s case manager and applicable related service providers to check-in around any barriers that you may have related to accessing these services between March 25th and 27th.

The above maintenance services will begin on March 25th, pause during spring break, and resume on April 6th.

We appreciate your ongoing partnership through this process,

The Special Education Team
