Vancouver Public Schools is pleased to announce that nearly all of its 3,644 employees have met the state mandate to be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption.

“I want to thank all of our employees for their patience and understanding while we worked through the process to meet the Oct. 18 deadline,” said Superintendent Jeff Snell. “I am grateful for the overwhelming positive response by our employees and for their continued dedication to serve our students in the safest way possible.”

Vaccinated employees: 92.4%
Employees with an approved medical or religious exemption: 7.6%
Total in compliance: 99.98%

Accommodations for employees with an approved exemption include:

  • Must wear a KN-95 mask when within 6 feet of others.
  • Must limit communal eating and maintain 6 feet physical distance from others.
  • Must complete a daily self-attestation regarding any COVID-19 symptoms and COVID-19 exposure.
  • May be subject to COVID-19 testing.

The district will not disclose an individual’s vaccination status.

Substitutes, volunteers and contracted employees (such as mental health providers and construction workers who work in schools while students are present) also have provided proof of vaccination or an approved exemption.
