Opportunity Knocks for Middle School and High School Students
The cTran Youth Opportunity Pass is available to all middle school and high school students who are enrolled in Vancouver, Evergreen, Battle Ground, Camas and Washougal school districts, the Washington State School for the Blind, the Washington School for the Deaf and the Next Success program.
Valued at over $500, the Youth Opportunity Pass is absolutely free to any middle or high school student in VPS; no restrictions apply! There’s even a travel training center to help students learn how to ride! The pass offers all participating students unlimited access to C-TRAN Local service through August 31. Once school begins, you can apply for a new pass! The Youth Opportunity Pass (YOP) does not offer access to any Regional or Express service that crosses into Portland, or paratransit service. It is not valid on TriMet or the Portland Streetcar.
To get your Youth Opportunity Pass:
- Download the consent form or pick one up from Career & Technical Education (CTE department) at the District Office
- Have guardian and student sign the form
- Email vps.cte@vansd.org to make an appointment to come by and get your pass (takes 5-minutes)
- Bring your VPS Student ID card and the signed consent form with you to the VPS District Office (during summer), to get your YOP pass for the summer. The summer pass expires 8/31/21.
Once school begins, middle and high schools will also have these forms available! 2021-22 school year passes are valid from 9/1/21 to 8/31/22 and are open to ALL VPS middle and high school students! No restrictions apply. What’s more awesome than that? Vancouver Public School students are also eligible for FREE access to Firstenburg and Marshall/Luepke community centers with the 2021-22 school year bus pass. Please visit the community center closest to you for enrollment details.
